Fishing on Bream in Spring

Now we will review and learn what is fishing for bream in the spring. As soon as the ice comes off the reservoirs, lovers and professionals of fishing on the bream are sent to rivers and lakes in the hope of catching their spring trophy. Let's figure out how, where, what and when to catch bream in the spring.

When is the best fishing for bream in the spring?

Unlike other fish, the bream does not take a break in feeding at this time, and it can already be fully caught. With gradual warming, the bream's activity only increases, and reaches its peak at a temperature of 12-14 degrees. After the temperature has risen above 15 degrees, the bream begins to choose the spawning time, and the activity of the fish decreases.

When reaching 16 degrees, the bream begins to spawn and at this time the food does not interest him. With a stable weather of 16-17 degrees, spawning of bream takes place in 4-6 days. If the temperature drops, the bream falls into a stupor and ceases to spawn, until the temperature recovers.

Typically, a bream needs 6 days with a temperature of 16 or more degrees, in order to complete the spawning. After spawning, the bream begins to actively feed again, but already in the coastal zone. The highest activity of bream after spawning lasts about a week. Then the bream rolls into the pits, in which it is caught all summer.

Where to look for bream in the spring?

In order to find this fish in the springtime it is necessary to know the peculiarities of bream migration depending on the time of day and temperature. All these features are again associated with spawning. The warmer the weather, the closer the bream to the shore and vice versa. By day, the bream is far from the shore on the shallows, where the water is warmer. In the daytime it is necessary to look for it in such places.

At night, the bream drifts to a depth where the water cools not so quickly. At night, bream does not feed, and catching it is useless. In the morning, if the sun is shining, the bream approaches closer to the shore to a depth of 1.5-2 meters. To catch a bream in the morning it is necessary here. In such places, the water warms up more quickly, and with the gradual warming up of the water the bream leaves for the daytime parking lots.

In the evening, the bream again approaches the shore, but already in places where there is more vegetation. He does not come here to warm himself, but how to determine if it's time to start spawning. In the evening, the biting is not stable. The best periods of fishing for bream will be the moment of approaching it to the shore and the moment of transition to the depth.

To define it is quite simple. When the sun ceases to illuminate the pond, the bream begins to approach the shore. With the gradual disappearance of the sun, the fish leave the shore. Usually this period coincides with the beginning of the hovering of the reservoir. It was during this period that there is an opportunity to catch a trophy bream that will not refuse to eat before bed.

Tackles for fishing on spring bream

In the spring, bream can be caught with a variety of gear. This can be a float rod, a bottom tackle or a feeder. We will consider the first two gear, since I wrote about fishing for the feeder earlier.

Fishing for float tackle

Fishing on Bream in Spring

To catch a bream on a float tackle in the spring it is possible only in the morning and in the evening. In this regard, sliding rigging is not needed, since the depth at the fishing site does not exceed 2-3 meters. The rod must be long and light.

The optimum length of the rod is from 6 meters and above. Bream is very shy, and the bait needs to be delivered to the catching point as quietly as possible. In this connection, long fishing rods are used. Ideally, it's better to catch with a plug.

We will consider fishing for the Bologna fishing rod. This is due to the tactics of catching, which will be discussed below. The coil should be used inertial, as it is better to control the rigging. The main line should be strong. In my opinion, the optimal option will be 0.2-0.22 millimeters. Leashes can be used much thinner, for example 0.16. Since long-range casting is not required, the likelihood of overlapping a thin leash is very small.

Floats are better to choose with an extended body in the form of a diamond. Such models show well the bite on the rise. The carrying capacity of the float is selected depending on the wind and the excitement of the reservoir. If the excitement is strong it is worth using a long hollow antenna. As the main sinker is best to use an elongated fixed olive.

Such a load will not create unnecessary splashes, and scare off bream. Be sure to use an additional sinker, since most bites of bream are on the rise. If there are waves on the pond, you can put a smaller primary load. This technique will allow you to see a bite on the rise, even with strong excitement. Hooks need to choose the size of the bait. If you have a large worm, the hook must match. The only thing to remember about, the hook must necessarily have a long forearm, that would make a volumetric bait.

Fishing bream on the bottom tackle

Catching on the bottom gear requires more time for fishing. But this tackle usually comes across worthy trophies that go alone or a small flock. The best time for catching bottom gear is day and late evening. You do not need a strong fishing rod here. It is enough telescopic rod length of 3-4 meters. It is better to use a braided line as the main line. In long leashes there is no need, since the sinker does not scare off the bream, and we do not use the bait. It will be enough 20-30 centimeters. The breaking load of the leash must be at least 5 kilograms.

As we know, bream is fed from the bottom, in this connection it is best to use a feeder rig. The usual classical equipment, although it does not scare off the bream, may not be bitten. Try as an experiment put the sinker above one more leash, and you will see that the bream will try the bait on the bottom hook. The requirement for hooks is the same as that of a float rod.

Baits for catching bream

In spring, bream only bites on animal baits. The best of them are a worm, a bloodworm and an odor. If there is a lot of small fish in the pond, it is better to refuse from the spoiling. Since fishing goes on shallow areas, small fish will eat up the debris. I show myself well the combinations of several baits on the hook.

The bait for bream should be voluminous. In spring, bream likes large baits. Therefore, do not be afraid to make a volumetric bait. The bait should be planted in such a way that it would move constantly. But at the same time, it is not advisable to leave long ends at the worm.

Tactics of catching on the float

For successful catching on the float, first you need to choose a place. In the morning and evening, the bream approaches the shore, and tries to stay near the vegetation. The best place for fishing will be the border of vegetation and clean water. Remember, for successful fishing on bream you need to observe silence! Even a branch that has cracked under your foot can destroy all fishing.

Often it is possible to visually locate the bream. If you see a cloud of turbidity in a certain place or bubbles of air rising from the bottom, this fish definitely stands here. If the place cannot be determined, choose any place with a depth of 1.5 meters, and a clear vegetation boundary.

In fishing for a float rod, it is better to use a bait. Only before catching the bait it is necessary to darken that it would fit the color of the bottom. If you find a fish, you need to climb upstream 10 meters, and feed the point. After that, it is worth moving higher, and casting above the lured place, that would not scare away the fish. If the fish is not found, choose a promising place, and feed it, then again move upstream. After waiting a while, you should start fishing. Casting is done on the same line as the bait lay, after which the wiring is performed. On a well-fed place, you can take a short pause, after which a bite usually follows.

After taking out the fish, do not rush to throw the tackle right away. Most likely, the fish got scared and sailed away from the bait. Take a few minutes to clean the line from the mucus, and attach the lure. Usually, after 10 minutes, the activity of bream is resumed. Drawing bream is not necessary to force and pull it with all its might. It is much more effective to try to lift it to the surface. So the bream quickly gives up and does not cause a strong panic in the lured point.

Tactics of fishing on bream with bottom tackle

Without bait, the bream needs to be searched all over the pond, and as fishing takes place in the daytime, determine the parking lot problem. The place should be chosen based on the approximate depth. Very well bream is caught near a sharp dump.

In such places, there is usually a boundary of rapid flow and practically standing water. The depth in the fishing place should be at least 1.5 meters. This can be determined by counting the seconds from the moment the load falls into the water. The weight of 30 grams is about to sink at a speed of 1 meter per second!

Fishing on Bream in Spring

The bite of the bream on the bottom gear is sure, but having sensed a catch, bream often spits out the bait. In this regard, you need to be constantly attentive, and at the slightest blow or suspenders to cut the fish. In the case of bottom tackle, the bream should be brought ashore quickly.

If you try to tire bream, he can pass for the curb, and from there you will not get it. Bream strong opponent, especially in spring. But when he takes a sip of air, he usually surrenders, and this must be used. Fishing for bream in the spring is very exciting, and not as difficult as it might seem at first glance.
